Introduction
In the excerpt, I mentioned good storytelling because I wanted to thank the scriptwriter (the real one, Ren Zhuang Liu), who did an excellent job of making two scripts and two transmigrations go through smoothly in one drama with a double happy ending. Her appearance in the very end also convinced the NRTA officials to stamp their approval of this transmigration drama with a forbidden trope. Because, after all, in the drama, both worlds are merely her creation.

Episode 31
I can summarize this episode with a sentence: Nan Heng is embarrassing, and Xiao Yu is frustrating, heh!
We know that Nan Heng and Canjiangyue orchestrated the whole act to propose to Song Yi Meng again. When she found Nan Heng at the back garden of Canjiangyue Hall, he came riding a unicorn and put on the rabbit mask she gave him… so cheesy, haha! Where did he get that unicorn??? Nan Heng proposed to her again and said that he wanted to spoil Song Yi Meng for the rest of his life. Everyone was moved, I got second-hand embarrassment, and Nan Heng was rejected. Xiao Yu, crying, simply said that she couldn’t marry him, then ran away. Nan Heng chased her and demanded an explanation. Finally, Xiao Yu took him home to show her Slacker Escape Plan board. She explained to him that the world they were in was based on a script. She knew the script; thus, she knew what happened. Including the fact that not marrying him was to protect her family. Although confused, Nan Heng still begged her to stay and to think about his proposal.
Not only did Nan Heng and Canjiangyue put in an effort, but even the Emperor did. He invited Song Yu De to play GO and let him barely win the game. Because the emperor let a subordinate win, His Majesty had a request. He thought the elders needed to push the youngsters in the love matter. Song Yu De hesitated, knowing his daughter’s temper. However, as the Emperor had a change of heart on Nan Heng, he also admired Song Yi Meng now.
Nan Heng sat by himself in the rain. He slit his palm with a knife, blood gushing out mixed with drizzling rain. Fu Gui found him. Nan Heng asked what if Fu Gui found out that this whole world was just a story from a book. Fu Gui simply answered that he wanted to stay by Nan Heng’s side and do what he wanted to do. Nan Heng was enlightened. Yi Ting caught up with her, stating she wanted to go shopping and asked her sister to go with her. The carriage didn’t go to the shops but to the Male Lead’s Mansion. Some guards ushered Xiao Yu in, and the smiling Yi Ting left. Even her maids, Ying Qiu and Zhi Xia, arrived with their belongings to tend to Xiao Yu.
Nan Heng not only persuaded Song Yi Meng to get married but also resolved her fear. He recommended Song Yu De as the Chancellor to replace Gao Chang Yin. He already thought that other ministers would not accept it since it was nepotism, so he asked the emperor to issue another edict stating that if, as a future emperor, he acted inappropriately, the prime minister could bring all officials to dismiss him. His father accused him of being a simp, but he agreed anyway. Song Yu De received the edict promoting him as the Chancellor with a Death Exempt Plaque. He had a heart-to-heart talk with Song Yi Meng. He said this had never happened before in the Jing dynasty, which shows Nan Heng’s feelings for her. What was she afraid of? Xiao Yu mentioned all her worries, including that if she suddenly left this world, what would happen to Nan Heng? Dad brought up her late mother, whom he never told his daughter about. Although he regretted not being able to spend much time with her mother, he cherished the days they spent together. No regrets should be left in love.

Episode 32
Nan Heng took Xiao Yu to the matchmaker tree and swore that he would never let her and the Song family down. When Xiao was still worried about the script, he said that everyone had changed from the script. Nan Heng was willing to wait for her. Xiao Yu realized he was right and declared that she was willing to take courage again and agreed to the marriage. YAY!
However, Xiao Yu was still worried about the famous scene that we saw in the first episode, which she called “Three-Way Stabbing on the Wedding Day.” In that scene, Chu Gui Hong stabbed Nan Heng, Song Yi Meng stabbed Chu Gui Hong, and Nan Heng stabbed Song Yi Meng. He didn’t understand the last two parts. In the script, during the wedding procession, Song Yi Meng stabbed Chu Gui Hong because she wanted to marry Nan Heng, but Nan Heng wanted to kill her. After her explanation, Nan Heng thought that the script was ridiculous. Xiao Yu asked if they could skip the wedding procession and directly get the marriage certificate.

Nan Heng requested his father to have his Xianyu Army guard the wedding procession, not Chu Gui Hong’s Qianyu Army (he was still the Capital Prefect). Although the Emperor mocked that this was Song Yi Meng’s request again, earlier Nan Rui also suggested to his father to transfer Chu Gui Hong to the garrison in Pingrong City. Nan Rui was worried that Chu Gui Hong was trapped in his inner demon and couldn’t move on.
Of course, Chu Gui Hong was angry about the transfer and blamed Nan Heng. He wanted to ruin the wedding. A few days later, he pretended to leave the capital. Shang Guan He, Po Yun Long, and Duan Shan Hu were ordered to follow them secretly. However, Chu Gui Hong tricked them. His aide Rong Hua lured the Night Wanderers away, while Chu Gui Hong secretly returned to the capital. Sure enough, he appeared from the crowd and stabbed Nan Heng! Xiao Yu tried not to go out to stab Nan Heng, but the script forced her to fly out of the sedan chair and stab Nan Heng. Nan Heng didn’t want to stab his bride as per the script. Instead, Fu Gui stabbed Song Yi Meng, and Nan Heng blocked the sword for her. He vomited blood and fainted.
Fu Gui explained that Nan Heng ordered him to stab her, so the ML saving FL mechanism was triggered, and he saved her instead of stabbing her. Nan Rui came with the Qianyu Army’s physician, Dr. Zhao, who stabilized Nan Heng’s condition. Dr. Zhao asked to see Nan Heng. Dr. Zhao asked Xiao Yu if he could save her; she should let Chu Gui Hong go. When Nan Rui asked how Dr Zhao knew about Nan Heng, he said that he got a mysterious message.
Episode 33
After Nan Heng woke up, he became a needy baby patient who demanded that Song Yi Meng always be by his side. Damn Shang Guan He and Fu Gui, who wanted to tend their master or deal with the usual business! When Shang Guan He reported the Canjiangyue’s accounting to Nan Heng, he asked Song Yi Meng to deal with it instead, since it was her duty as the crown princess. Xiao Yu complained because she didn’t know the ancient Chinese language. Nan Heng just wanted her to know more about the world. When she wanted to be excused, he pretended to be in pain.
Nan Heng teased Song Yi Meng that her real world might not be real but also a story. There she was also a character, not real. For this, she was on a whim and taught him basic math and English. Nan Heng was a quick learner; he could solve an algebra equation. So, she taught him English. When he asked her the English translation of “everlasting love” and “unwavering devotion,” she translated each syllable a la machine translation into “white head, same heart” and even said the whole phrase in an American accent, muahaha! She was so cute when teaching him that he couldn’t help but kiss her. That was the scene where the featured image came from…
Let’s leave these two being lovey-dovey for a bit, since we were introduced to a completely new character…
So, Chu Gui Hong was let go by Song Yi Meng in exchange for the Qianyu physician who restored her husband. Chu Gui Hong, who was severely injured, was rescued by a mysterious man and brought to a village. When he woke up, he was surprised that his father, King Qianyu, was still alive. He was supposed to die in the Battle of Pingrong. Together, they would join forces to overcome Nan Heng. He was also the one who ordered the physician to see Nan Heng. King of Qianyu mysteriously knew a lot of stuff, including the future.
Episode 34
After Nan Heng felt better, as per custom, the newlywed had dinner at Song Yi Meng’s family. They came in a bad time because of the fight between Zhou Xue Yi and Song Yi Ting. While visiting the Noble Consort who was sick, Song Yi Ting caught the Emperor’s eye. He remembered she was the one who Nan Rui liked. He wanted to match them, so the palace sent her the wedding geese to propose. Song Yi Ting was unhappy when she received the geese, although poor Nan Rui explained that it was not his intention. Her refusal made her mother super angry.
The family dinner ended awkwardly. Xiao Yu was wondering whether Shang Guan He liked her sister; even if he did, he was not proactive. Nan Heng understood his subordinate. He knew that Shang Guan He was worried that he would not have the means to protect Song Yi Ting. Later, when Song Yi Ting paid Shang Guan He his wage, she became irritable at him for being wishy-washy with their relationship.
Chu Gui Hong was back in the capital, now with his father. Xiao Yu was worried that this was a deviation she didn’t know from the plot, what would happen next? Nan Heng assured her that since they broke the script mechanism, surely there was a way to deal with other changes. The Emperor held a banquet for them, not only to welcome King Qianyu back, but he was suspicious at his sudden appearance. For this, the Emperor deliberately arranged venison meat and King Qianyu ate it. However, in the past, King Qianyu despised venison meat! Chu Gui Hong drew his sword and questioned his father. King Qianyu only said that he no longer stick to the old rules and ate the meat happily.
Xiao Yu went to find Nan Heng to the palace, but King Qianyu suddenly caught her. He then called her Song Xiao Yu. At first, Xiao Yu said he got the wrong person. However, after King Qianyu gave her some real world terms, she realized he was from the real world. He introduced himself as the scriptwriter Bi Xiong, whom we saw in the first episode! The screenwriter blamed the two for modifying the script, which made him unable to explain to the director, so he wrote himself into the book to see what was going on. Bi Xiong said he had a way to return to the real world, but they had to follow the original plot. Xiao Yu didn’t want the Song family to be destroyed. She rather stayed in the story world and be with them and Nan Heng. Bi Xiong mocked that they were only fictional characters.
Nan Heng suddenly vomited blood, and he suspected that it was the backlash that changed the script!
Episode 35
Xiao Yu was trying hard to convince Bi Xiong that the characters here were not mere decorations but awe-inspiring characters, so she brought him to Canjiangyue to meet the Night Wanderers. In Bi Xiong’s script, there was no Canjiangyue. While they were there, her stepmother, Zhou Xue Yi, suddenly stormed into Canjiangyue to find Shang Guan He. She accused Shang Guan He of ruining the possibility of marriage between her daughter and Prince Nan Rui. Shang Gua He refused to give up Yi Ting, since he understood she loved to live an unrestrained life. Xiao Yu complained to Bi Xiong about how he could create an awful character like Zhou Xue Yi. Bi Xiong made Shang Guan He King Qianyu’s adopted son, and married Yi Ting to the Chu family. Chu Gui Hong was not happy that he suddenly had an adoptive brother, but his ‘father’ said that he had his own reasons and that he was going to deal with Nan Heng.
Shang Guan He, although he was adopted as King Qianyu’s son, was suspicious that his adoptive father was not simple and had hidden motives. Nan Heng told Shang Guan He that King Qianyu was a scriptwriter of their fictitious world. Shang Guan was proud that the scriptwriter created such a handsome character like him, but Nan Heng said that he didn’t exist in that script, so he wouldn’t exist in the end, either. Shang Guan He was stunned that he would leave Yi Ting alone.
When Song Yu De saw the marriage letter, he was a little hesitant. Song Yi Meng advised him it was a good thing since their father didn’t want Yi Ting to marry a royal family member anyway. Their father finally agreed, but Yi Ting disagreed. She wanted Shang Guan He to confess his love and propose directly to her. Xiao Yu went to look for Shang Guan He and asked why he was hesitating. Shang Guan He said that Nan Heng told him he didn’t exist in the storybook. How come a non-existent person was with her sister only to disappear?
Suddenly, Duan Shan Hu reported that the enemy was approaching! The ‘enemy’ was none other than Prince Nan Rui, who came with Yi Ting. He confessed his love to her in public and wanted to marry her. This was actually an act between him and Yi Ting to coax Shang Guan He. Awww, Nan Rui! You’re so sweet… Although Shang Guan He hesitated, in the end, when Yi Ting left, he couldn’t hold it anymore and asked her what kind of marriage she wanted and what if he left suddenly. Yi Ting said she would remarry; she wouldn’t mourn over a coffin. Her response made him relieved, and he kissed her. The confession scene was beautiful, as it was organized by Nan Rui. I had to put up the screenshot here. Around the hall, they put up Yi Ting’s photos. Flower confetti was thrown from the balcony onto them. Clearly, Nan Rui had mixed feelings but was happy with the couple. However, when Song Yi Meng heard that Nan Rui was told by his uncle, King Qianyu, to facilitate the confession between Shang Guan He and Song Yi Ting, she became suspicious.
Episode 36
Nan Heng was suspicious of Mr. Screenwriter, so Nan Heng encountered Bi Xiong. His guess was right; because he altered the plot, he suffered the backlash. Nan Heng was worried that Song Yi Meng also suffered, but Bi Xiong explained that she never altered anything. It was Nan Heng who altered the “Three-Way Stabbing on the Wedding Day” iconic scene by ordering Fu Gui to stab Song Yi Meng. Indeed, Bi Xiong also facilitated the confession between Shang Guan He and Yi Ting for more destruction of the story book. Later, when the worried Song Yi Meng came to check on her husband, Nan Heng lied that Bi Xiong had poisoned him because of the alteration, but he got an antidote.
Chu Gui Hong was also suspicious that King Qianyu was not his real father. He threatened King Qianyu to kill him. Bi Xiong had no choice but to tell the truth. Chu Gui Hong was very angry hearing this; the script favored a bad guy like Nan Heng, and he wanted to decide his own destiny. Bi Xiong said that as long as Chu Gui Hong cooperated with the plot, he would rewrite Chu Gui Hong as the protagonist. Chu Gui Hong didn’t believe it and left Bi Xiong alone in the woods.
Shang Guan He was suspicious of King Qianyu, so he secretly spied on the Chu Mansion. He saw Rong Hua, Chu Gui Hong’s aide, bring in more Qianyu troops back to the Capital (they were supposedly sent away together with Chu Gui Hong last time). Shang Gua He reported to Nan Heng, and Xiao Yu remembered about the rebellion plot in the script. Nan Heng would ask His Majesty to order more Xuanjia troops as reinforcement. Song Yi Meng would ask her family to move to the palace.
Ji Xiang might not be an important supporting role, but his dedication to protect Nan Rui was incredible
Chu Gui Hong asked Rong Hua to poison the oranges Nan Rui bought for the Emperor. Sure enough, after eating the one peeled by his son, the Emperor vomited blood. The eunuch shouted that Nan Rui had poisoned the Emperor. Poor Nan Rui panicked, and Ji Xiang took him away to ask Nan Heng for help. When they ran away, they were intercepted by Chu Gui Hong and the Qianyu Army. Ji Xiang was killed, and Nan Rui was captured. Fortunately, Fu Gui came with the Xuanjia Army to take Nan Rui to the Crown Prince. Chu Gui Hong could only release Nan Rui. Nan Rui stayed with Nan Heng, and the Crown Prince ordered the Minister of Justice to investigate thoroughly. The report said that the Qianyu Army found poison at Nan Rui’s mansion used to poison His Majesty.
Xiao Yu realized that if His Majesty died, Nan Heng would ascend to be the new Emperor, and the plot would proceed with the next key scene. She quickly ordered a message to Shang Guan He to protect Yi Ting at all costs, and she borrowed some Xuanjia soldiers to find Mr. Screenwriter.
Episode 37
Episodes 37 to 39 were full of plot twists!!!
Xiao Yu went to meet Bi Xiong and accused him of hurting the innocent to force the iconic scene to happen. Bi Xiong said that fictional characters could be modified; who cares about their lives? Xiao told him off, saying that in the real world, he was a crappy scriptwriter, and in this script world, he was a lunatic murderer. Bi Xiong then said that Nan Heng suffered backlash for changing the iconic scene, and he would die!
Rong Hua, Chu Gui Hong’s aide, captured Song Yi Ting and her mother, Zhou Xue Yi. He cut Yi Ting’s finger, and Bi Xiong presented it to Xiao Yu as a threat. He forced Xiao to go with him to the city tower to do the “Choice Between Two” iconic scene.
The Emperor was at his deathbed and called Nan Heng in. He regretted what he had done at Nan Heng and asked his son to call him “Father.” That was a sad scene, as Nan Heng remembered the past when His Majesty was so angry and ordered him never to call him “father” anymore. After Nan Heng left, he remembered the snowman birthday gift to his father and that his father secretly cared about him.
Fu Gui reported to Nan Heng that his wife followed King Qianyu to the city tower. Nan Heng quickly ordered the Xuanjia Army to rescue Song Yi Meng. Yi Ting was also brought to the city tower.
Shang Guan He rushed over and reported that he had been ambushed on the way to find Yi Ting. Nan Heng ordered Fu Gui to help the Night Wanderers fight against the Qianyu Army that entered the city. He and Shang Guan He went to rescue the Song sisters.
It snowed again in the sky, just as in the “Choice Between Two” iconic scene. At this time, Nan Heng didn’t have to choose between Song Yi Meng and Song Yi Ting. Shang Guan He was with him to rescue his beloved. Nan Heng distracted Bi Xiong while Shang Guan He sneaked in and fought the Qianyu Army. Nan Heng quickly jumped onto his horse and threw a spear at Bi Xiong. He fell and got injured. Nan Heng shouted at his wife to jump, and he caught her. On the tower, Shang Guan He held King Qianyu hostage and freed Yi Ting. King Qianyu ordered Rong Hua to save him, but Rong Hua killed him instead. His loyalty lay with Chu Gui Hong, not King Qianyu. He then shouted that Nan Heng had killed King Qianyu and ordered the Qianyu Army to kill Nan Heng. He was the target, not Song Yi Meng! Fu Gui and the Xuanjia Army fought Rong Hua and the Qianyu Army. Shang Guan He was outnumbered, fighting on the tower by himself. He threw Yi Ting down to be caught by Song Yi Meng and Fu Gui, and then he was stabbed to death.
Chu Gui Hong broke into the palace and killed the guards and the eunuch. He told Royal Consort Gao Chang Rong that he rewrote the history: His Majesty regretted appointing Nan Heng as the successor, so he changed the throne to Nan Rui. The CP was angry and poisoned His Majesty.
Xiao Yu asked Fu Gui to take her sister away, and she stayed fighting with Nan Heng till the end. Nan Heng was exhausted because of his condition, and he was shot to death by Rong Hua. Although he said and she said that Nan Heng wouldn’t die because he was the Male Lead, he died anyway in his wife’s arms. She was so angry and charged towards Rong Hua, but she, too, was stabbed to death by the Qianyu soldiers.
Episode 38
I told you, right? That Episodes 37 to 39 were full of plot twists?
It was snowing heavily in the sky, and the countdown began to be made. It was back to the moment when Xiao Yu woke up, six hours before her death. When she found out that she was still alive, she hurried to find Nan Heng and hugged her tightly. She accused Nan Heng of hiding the fact that he was sick because he changed the plot.
Xiao Yu quickly explained to Nan Heng and Shang Guan He about all that happened in their future, including that she died with both of them. Also, Chu Gui Hong had another plan to use the poisonous emperor to blame Nan Heng, seek power, and usurp the throne for himself. She guessed that the trigger of her reincarnation was that she was not supposed to die. Like before, when she insisted on marrying Chu Gui Hong, she died and reincarnated multiple times. Shang Guan He would go to save Song Yi Ting while Nan Heng protected Song Yi Meng.
Nan Rui still bought oranges and entered the palace, but Rong Hua learned that Nan Heng had entered the palace, and the guards were increased. Chu Gui Hong thought it was strange, so he went to capture Song Yi Ting and her mother. He reminded Rong Hua not to listen to the words of King Qianyu. Nan Rui peeled oranges for the emperor and just fed them to his mouth but was stopped by Nan Heng. Nan Heng said that oranges are poisonous and that Chu Gui Hong would frame the brothers, and the emperor ordered the oranges to be tested. Nan Heng asked the emperor to transfer Xuanjia troops back to the capital.
Shang Guan He and the Night Wanderers hurried to rescue his beloved, only to discover that she and her mothers had already fallen into captivity. They followed their footprints and found Song Yi Ting’s hairpin as a clue. After entering the cave, they were ambushed and bombed by the Qianyu Army. Chu Gui Hong then cut Yi Ting’s finger. Zhou Xue Yi was released to deliver his message to Song Yi Meng to go alone to meet him. He knew the plot from Mr. Screenwriter, so he captured the Song family.
At the Song Mansion, Chu Gui Hong was studying the Slacker Escape Plan. Xiao Yu begged him to reform himself, as he could still do great things and become like his father. But Chu Gui Hong didn’t listen to her. He knew that she was not the real Song Yi Meng, but Song Xiao Yu. He proudly told her that he killed the scriptwriter.
Nan Heng rushed to the cave and found the Night Wanderers had been bombed. Shang Guan He, Po Yun Long, and Duan Shan Hu were barely alive. He got a message to come to the Song Mansion alone, as he had Song Yi Meng. Song Yi Meng was brought to his family and the Song household. Chu Gui Hong mocked them, stating that Song Yi Meng was fake and came from another world. However, the Song family gave her love and devotion to Xiao Yu one by one. Her father tried to attack Chu Gui Hong but was killed on the spot. Xiao Yu wanted to kill herself, but Nan Heng came to prevent her. He then threw his sword towards Chu Gui Hong, while Chu Gui Hong did the same thing. Both died at the same time. Xiao Yu committed suicide without hesitation.
Episode 39
Would this be the last reincarnation?
Xiao Yu woke up again and returned to eight hours ago, two hours earlier than the last time. She quickly found Nan Heng and asked him to send someone to protect the Song family. Nan Heng was confused, and she detailed Shang Guan He’s visit. Shang Guan He came in and did exactly what she said. Although Nan Heng was confused, he trusted Song Yi Meng.
But… oh my God! Chu Gui Hong was also reincarnated!!! He felt familiar things and suspected he was reincarnated. Bi Xiong said it was not reincarnation; it was called an infinite loop. Song Yi Meng experienced it many times before. Chu Gui Hong was worried that Song Yi Meng was also reincarnated and retained her memory. He wanted to take action first.
Nan Rui was also reincarnated! When the Emperor was going to eat the oranges he peeled, Nan Rui suddenly felt that this scene had happened before. Chu Gui Hong broke in, snatched the orange, inspected it on the spot, said the orange was poisonous, and blamed Nan Heng! The Emperor didn’t believe him, but Chu Gui Hong put His Majesty under house arrest for his ‘safety’!
Nan Heng and Song Yi Meng rushed to the palace, but the Emperor’s palace was already surrounded by the Qianyu Army. The Emperor attracted the attention of the Qianyu Army and let Nan Rui escape through the dog hole to inform Nan Heng. Song Yi Meng wondered why Chu Gui Hong was one step ahead. She suspected that Chu Gui Hong was also reincarnated. Nan Heng ordered Fu Gui to transfer Nan Rui and his mother to a safe place.
Bi Xiong asked Chu Gui Hong why he wanted to change the plot. Chu Gui Hong wanted to go against the script and change his fate. He would not let Bi Xiong return to modern times. Bi Xiong shouted for help but was tied up by Chu Gui Hong.
Nan Heng believed that past failures were caused by insufficient troops. He went to find Bi Xiong and persuaded him to use his identity as King Qianyu to unite the Qianyu Army with his. Bi Xiong was adamant about completing the iconic scene because he had died twice. Nan Heng thought of the 3000 private soldiers who belonged to Gao Chang Yin. He believed he could use his CP status to make them help him.
Xiao Yu hoped that the whole Jing would join the action. But the officials, friends, and even thugs were all afraid to go against Chu Gui Hong. Only their families stick with them. Xiao Yu told the Song household about the script world, and they wanted to help, even the servants! Nan Heng also told Nan Rui. At first, he was too afraid to help. Nan Heng gave him a sword, put his trust in his brother, and encouraged him to be the chosen one to rescue his father. Nan Heng entrusted him to Fu Gui. Before the battle, Song Yi Ting asked Shang Guan He to marry her in a simple ceremony just between them.
Before sending off her husband to battle, Song Yi Meng made a statement:
Indeed, in everyone's life, there are heroes. But the biggest of them is definitely the uncompromising and unyielding his or her own self.
Episode 40
Inside the capital, the Night Wanderer’s masters lead the ambush to the Qianyu Army reinforcement. The Song family, officials, Axe Gang members, and some noble ladies helped them. A few days later, Bi Xiong sent her a letter that he had return to the modern times and now everyone could control his/her own destiny. Ying Qiu eventually got together with Prince Nan Rui who went farming with Ji Xiang. Zhi Xia became the chief of Canjianyue Hall. Song Yi Ting asked Bi Xiong to enable Shang Guan He to get pregnant, not her. The MILs became besties and divorced their husbands. Fu Gui became the general that guard the border. Yai Qian took the 3000 private soldiers to join the Xuanjia Army and hoped to be a deputy general. Nan Heng ascended to the throne. Song Yi Meng was busy improving people’s life using modern ways.
The real scriptwriter, Ren Zhuang Liu, finally finished the script and got a call from the real director, Guo Hu. He wondered what happened to Bi Xiong? She said she sent him back to the modern world, he was just a minor supporting character. Suddenly, there was a glitch and time turned back to where Ren Zhuang Liu just about to type “The End”.
Song Yi Meng asked Nan Heng: “What if the fictional characters’ awakening and us changing fate were a part of a script? For example, instead of “Dream of QingNing”, it was A Dream Within A Dream ( 书卷一梦 )?”

Song Xiao Yu woke up and found herself in modern times. She wondered if everything was just a dream. Her manager called her as she was late in the first day of costume fitting. She rushed to the set and found that Nan Feng was there, too. She stepped forward and took off Nan Feng’s shades to see his reaction. He asked coldly what she was doing. Xiao Yu realized this man was not Nan Heng and left disappointed. When she walk out of the building, there was a glow by the side door. Nan Heng walked out and called Song Yi Meng’s name. She didn’t think he was the real Nan Heng until he quoted their English secret love code: “white head same heart”. Upon realizing that he was Nan Heng, she ran to him happily and hugged him!
Conclusion
There are several theories about the ending. I myself believed that Nan Heng was transmigrated to the second script world through the portal. There was no further explanation if he took over Nan Feng or there was still the original Nan Feng. All I care is… the drama ends with a double happy ending!!!
