Drama Recap Episodes 11 to 25
Episodes 11
It’s the Mid-Autumn Festival and all disciples go home but Ran Ran. She feels lonely because she doesn’t have a home but Yi Shui gives her a seed that grows into a tree. He quotes what Qin Ge told him before and tells Ran Ran that Mount Wester is her home now. Awww, he does the same to her as Qin Ge did to him before!
He also gives her an overcooked mooncake he baked it himself. She takes him to enjoy the better mooncakes and visits her old friend Xiao Cui in Xue Village. She then takes him to steal an onion, a custom for single girls from her hometown. She’s excited when he finds the onion and she unexpectedly yells that he’s her ideal husband sends him to meditation and even kicks her out of his sea of consciousness.
Ran Wu can absorb Ran Ran’s mighty spiritual power and injure her master. She also injures Ran Ran. Yi Shui really wants to untie the Soul Devouring Lock. Su Yu comes to take Ran Wu to his Palace. I feel I won’t like this couple! She is wounded by Wei Ju’s Resentment Liquid poison, and can only come for the cure to Wester Mountain. Yi Shui hides Ran Ran away from her sister. It’s a good thing he anticipates that, since Ran Wu tests all disciples, including Ran Ran who is doing Yi Shui’s (intentional) punishment in the garden. Yi Shui put Ran Ran and Ran Wu sat side-by-side and Zeng Yi helped him. Although they can’t untie the Soul Devouring Lock, they can transfer the Spirit Root from Ran Wu to Ran Ran. After he neutralizes Resentment Liquid poison, Su Yu shows up.

Episodes 12
I dubbed this episode as Circle of Jealousy. Su Yu is jealous because Ran Wu visits Yi Shui without his knowledge. He says Yi Shui is not to be trusted. Ran Ran comes in bringing tea. She and Su Yu knew each other when she still ran a restaurant, he frequently bought wine Ran Ran made. Yi Shui is jealous of their rendezvous because Ran Ran told him in the past she fell for Su Yu. Ran Wu is jealous, too, because she has loved Su Yu since her past life. Yi Shui interrupts them and Su Yu blatantly bad-mouthing him in front of the ladies. To Yi Shui’s surprise, Ran Ran defends her master openly. However, she’s also jealous since she finds out that her master and Mu Qin Ge had a thing in the past. Yi Shui kicks Su Yu and Ran Wu out in anger. Back at the palace, Su Yu proposes marriage to Ran Wu.
Ran Ran and Xi Er think that their master is brokenhearted because ‘Qing Ge’ chooses Su Yu, so they want to lift his spirit. Xi Er has an idea to match their master to a female immortal master, though (jealous) Ran Ran slightly disagrees. Yi Shui rejects them all, but Ran Ran mistakenly sends out invitations to the ladies, hahaha! So the ladies come, and the disciples sincerely apologize. Yi Shui sends all away, citing that he practices the Unfeeling Mantra for cultivation so he has no intention to the ladies. But The Master Peach Blossom is intrigued to try her cupid spell, and she sends a spell that accidentally goes to Ran Ran who wants to find Yi Shui to apologize. She ends up hugging and seducing him. Yi Shui snaps her out of the spell and sends all four for punishment. But he feels tempted.

Episodes 13
Yi Shui decides to go into seclusion to avoid Ran Ran, and she’s denied giving food to him. Zeng Yi gives her the book “Number One Resentful Couple of Immortal Sects” to discourage her from falling deeper into Yi Shui, lol. He also takes over the teaching. A year later, Yi Shui is still hiding and Ran Ran advances her cultivation and becomes the first disciple ahead of others. Oh, oh, someone is jealous (Bai Bai Shan). I wonder if he’s gonna be a traitor… Zeng Yi takes her to Forbidden Valley to cultivate Formless Spirit Roots.
Wei Jiu also went into seclusion and when he’s out he causes an earthquake on Wester Mountain to find the Spiritual Spring. Yi Shui who feels the earthquake flies to Ran Ran to block the fall of a rock. Zeng Yi lies to Ran Ran that her master is not out yet. Ran Ran starts to recall a glimpse of Qing Ge’s memory when she is attacked by Wei Jiu. Again she enters Yi Shui’s sea of consciousness and shares her longing and confession to Yi Shui. After leaving her seclusion, Ran Ran makes a wish to Paired Wings to Auspicious Clouds for she and her master to be together but Yi Shui sends the clouds away. After two times he comes out of his hiding place and before Ran Ran can confess he rejects her stating he took the Unfeeling Mantra and sticks to it.

Episodes 14
Yi Shui goes down the mountain to investigate a demonic case in Wangxiang Pass. The disciples are bored when he’s away, so they go down too and end up in Wangxiang Pass, too. I’m glad the poor girl’s mind is deviated into a mysterious case than just thinking about her unrequited love. Although disagrees with his disciples’ (and Ran Ran’s) involvement in the case he secretly helps her. Ran Ran remembers Qin Ge’s technique when fighting the demons. However, this causes Ran Wu to have a hunch that her sister is still alive and steals her power away.

Episodes 15
The Wangxiang Pass case is somewhat over and Ran Ran’s cultivation skill is leveled up. When Yi Shui is helping Ran Ran with her meditation, she enters his sea of consciousness again and boldly confesses to the man inside the cage about her love for Yi Shui. He runs away, lol!
An old lady comes to see Yi Shui, introducing herself as his mother’s friend. She gives him his belated mother’s house key. The lady says there is some stuff in her house she wants to give it to him. Yi Shui breaks and throws away the key but Ran Ran rescues it and puts it back together. She goes to the house and calls him over. His mother is not as bad as we thought. Back then Prince Ping gave her money to buy Yi Shui and told her to cut ties with her son, that was the reason she was cold and harsh at him. She overheard Prince Ping wanted to force Yi Shui with another dose of the demonic elixir to control him so she stole it. She ran away but she got very sick because of the demonic effect of the bottle and wrote a letter to Yi Shui when dying.

Episodes 16
Ran Ran falls asleep while waiting for Yi Shui’s mourning for his mother. Seeing her asleep, he takes advantage to kiss the sleeping beauty’s forehead. He vomits blood and the ice lotuses withers. At night he takes her to see the night mayflies (similar to fireflies) to compensate him for sending away Paired Wings to Auspicious Clouds, lol.
Yi Shui and his disciples go to see the Alchohol Immortal Jiu Lao Xian (Qing Ge’s friend) and Ran Ran bribes him with her wine to make him want to help Yi Shui. Yi Shui needs his help to investigate The Seven Evil Transformation Spell Su Yishui found in the Wangxiang Pass case. Lao Xian says that Spirit Springs is related to Mu Qing Ge and something in her spiritual energy can lead them to Spirit Springs. Easy peasy, as the real Mu Qing Ge is with Yi Shui. Liang Wu Meng, another Qing Ge’s friend, shows up, too! He’s the one who Ran Ran has been looking for to heal her grass friend, much to Yi Shui’s jealousy, lol!

Episodes 17
Liang Wu Meng and Alcohol Immortal still hold a grudge against Yi Shui for killing their bestie Qing Ge, so they’re being sarcastic that the Devil Child (Yi Shui) has to die. Ran Ran consoles Yi Shui that Grandmaster Qing Ge must think that a devil child is only a vessel, the one at fault is Spirit Springs.
Bai Bai Shan is tricked by the Scarlet Sect, but Ran Ran finds out about their plan. The disciples are attacked, and Ran Ran tries to use her qi to defend them but fails. Yi Shui rushes to rescue them, but since the lotus petals wither and their power is overcome by his demonic energy, he goes berserk and kills many of the Scarlet Sect people much to the shock of everyone. Ran Wu, in her hiding place, realizes that Ran Ran is Mu Qing Ge!
Ran Ran advises Yi Shui to show compassion to Bai Bai Shan, so he only punishes him and sends him to Zeng Yi for further teaching instead of being expelled from the Sect. When he puts away the candied fruit he gave her he sees a gift Su Yu gave her. He remembers how Su Yu gifted Qing Ge a hairpin and walks out angrily. Yi Shui drinks at night and Ran Ran approaches him. He is drunk and talks about the past then he can’t help it and kisses her forcibly!

Episodes 18
Poor Ran Ran! Because of Yi Shui’s reminiscence of Qing Ge, Ran Ran thinks that he kissed her because he thought she was Qing Ge. What’s worse is, the next morning he doesn’t remember that he kissed her. She’s angry and they don’t talk to each other. Normally I hate misunderstanding, but this is a juicy misunderstanding!
They bid farewell to Liang Wu Meng and Jiu Lao Xian, who give Ran Ran gifts that I think will be beneficial in the future, and continue their journey to find Spirit Springs with Mu Qing Ge’s spiritual energy guidance. They arrive at the mysterious and deserted Pu Xin Village, which cracks open its ground and swallows people. Su Yu’s entourage is trapped underground.

Episodes 19
The group rescues Su Yu. Somehow, they find a dilapidated house where Mu Qing Ge used to live. She has a diary and some of her writing is about meeting Su Yu, who also recognizes her belongings. Qing Ge and Su Yu had become besties way before she met Yi Shui. Poor Yi Shui is jealous of Su Yu for both Qing Ge and Ran Ran. Ran Ran can summon Qing Ge’s old Qing Ming sword, and now Su Yu also knows that Ran Ran is Qing Ge! Spirit Springs is found and sealed in the bone-chilling Heavenly Bottle (the one Yi Shui’s mom stole) and Yi Shui puts in around his neck to keep and throw it to the Netherworld in the future. Su Yu gives the Qing Ming sword to Ran Ran.
Episodes 20
The dragon in Pu Xin Village leaves a green dragon scale that can show the future. Yu Su saw he died. Xi Er and Gao Cang saw they they got married… Awww, I rather see this side couple’s romance than the other two’s (Wei Jiu and Tu Jiu Yuan or Su Yu and Mu Ran Wu!). Yi Shui saw he was possessed by a demon and hurt or kill Qing Ge. Ran Ran refuses to see her future as “One fate belongs to oneself. In the end, we must walk our own path.” That’s really a Communist Party’s spirit that doesn’t believe in superstition!
I don’t like this episode because Ran Ran and Yi Shui’s relationship is getting away from each other. Yi Shui avoids being with her (besides saving her when needed) because he realizes the Spirit Springs on him still affects him, and he remembers what he saw in the future. To keep her mind away from Yi Shui, Ran Ran is more focused on her cultivation. Su Yu tries hard to persuade her to come with him to the Capital. Ran Wu and Wei Jiu set the Empyrean Bone Sacrifice Formation, which killed Qing Ge before, to attack Wester Mountain. Yi Shui has to be demonized to save everyone. He hurts Ran Wu and forces her to make a blood oath that he will heal her if she makes an oath not to reveal Ran Ran’s real identity or she’ll be struck by lightning to death. To heal Ran Wu, she has to come with him to Wester Sect, and Ran Wu has been a real pest there.

Episodes 21
Ran Ran discovers that Ran Wu is an impostor, she is not Qing Ge but Qing Ge’s sister. When she reports it to Yi Shui, he intentionally denies it. He deliberately angers her and makes her determined to enter the Marrow-Cleansing Pool to level up her cultivation so she can leave Wester Mountain. Ugh, I hate noble idiocy so much! Su Yu is dying because his second brother (yes, the one who was once saved by Mu Qing Ge!) poisoned him to get his Crown Prince position. He persuades Ran Wu (he still treats her as Mu Qing Ge) to enter Heavenly Meridian Mountain to open up Four Waterways so he can get longevity and marry Ran Ran. Yi Shui sends his disciples away to Heavenly Meridian Mountain but secretly guards Ran Ran by possessing the cat Xiao Bai. Enter a new character, Yao Lao Xian, the Medicine Immortal, Jue Lao Xian’s elder brother.
Episodes 22
Yao Lao Xian takes Ran Ran to the Memory Cave at Heavenly Meridian Mountain and there are mirrors where the predecessors who entered Marrow-Cleansing Pool left their obsessions here. Yao Lao Xian tells her that Yi Shui chose the Black Pool which it grants rapid advancements at the cost of awakening inner demons. Ran Ran has to leave her obsession to move forward to Marrow-Cleasing Pool. She leaves her obsession with Yi Shui behind and enters the Pool.
Ran Ran chooses the White Pool and passes the trial. Wei Jiu cheats and enters the Marrow-Cleansing Pool. Wei Jiu and Ran Ran fight and they’re kicked out from the Pool to be with the rest. Ran Wu wants to kill them all, first with Imperial Heaven-Reversing Seal Su Yu lent her to open the waterways but it doesn’t kill them. Then she sends out Devourer Bugs but Yi Shui appears in his tiger form and rescues her (and Wei Jiu, lol!). They are in the cave and while Ran Ran is looking for medicinal herbs she finds Yi Shui’s obsession, which is the demon son. She also finds that Ling Xiao is indeed Yi Shui’s soul fragment.
It’s a good thing that Wei Jiu ‘tags’ along with them because he gives Ran Ran (and us) important info that indicates there is someone behind Ran Wu. Because the Heavenly Meridian Mountain is collapsing due to the Devourer Bugs, Wei Jiu and Ran Ran escape together (she puts Yi Shui in a safe place) but Ran Wu accuses them of colliding together. Everyone wants to attack the two but Yi Shui uses his spiritual power to save everyone trapped in the mountain. His spiritual power is completely depleted and Zeng Yi tells her about the Ice Lotuses that supposedly nourishes him since half of his Golden Core is used to nurture the Reincarnation Tree. Now that the Ice Lotuses are broken, Yi Shui is in the Transcendence Stage aka a coma, but not before he unties the master-disciple relationship between him and Ran Ran.
Episodes 23
Ran Ran asks Ling Xiao to take her to Yi Shui’s sea of consciousness and he’s chained and unresponsive inside. She uses a kiss to transfer her primal spiritual power to him and they’re back to the real world with the kissing scene we see in the future image. I rather see the one I put below.
Taking care of Yi Shui is not easy. Since Ran Ran confesses to him, he’s deliberately rude to her. Another time he turns into a cat as the side effect of the Soul Control Technique when he transforms into the cat Xiao Bai. Whatever Yi Shui does, doesn’t discourage Ran Ran from taking care of him, so finally he runs away, loool!

Episodes 24
Yay, finally Ran Ran finds out that she is the reincarnation of Mi Qing Ge! Although there are still fragments of her memories still missing.
Yi Shui goes to the Capital to find the Celestial Sect with his two loyal servants. He wants to find the Netherworld gate so he can throw away the Heavenly Bottle with Spirit Springs in it before it consumes him. It’s like his final mission and he may not return. Ran Ran decides to find him in the Capital and the others want to join her since Yi Shui basically disbanded Wester Sect and everybody can freely go.
Episodes 25
Ran Ran disguises herself as Ran Wu to enter the Palace. She meets Yi Shui and uses Qing Ge’s authority to scold him, lol. But he disappears because of the Soul Control Technique, back under the water. She also disguises as a palace maid to draw the palace diagram and overhears the plan of Ran Wu’s wealthy disciple to frame Zhou Fei Hua. Zhou Fei Hua is Qing Ge’s ex-disciple who also loves Su Yu. Zhou Fei Hua is willing to help Ran Ran. Finally, she meets Su Yu who tells her why he becomes like this.
Conclusion
Although you probably peaked at the ending spoiler I gave in the first article, how will this drama end? Let’s continue with Ran Ran Yi Shui’s journey in the final part of the article!
